ABOUT ADLINA ANIS
An alumna of Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design in Singapore, Adlina Anis has always loved fashion. Graduating with a Diploma in Apparel Design & Merchandising, she immediately started her illustrious career as a fashion assistant for magazines such as August Man, L’Officiel and Prestige.With sheer hard work and determination, shelater scored a full-time position as a fashion stylist at the Singapore version of Italian magazine, Amica.
After having clocked more than seven years of experience in the publishing industry, Adlina took a leap of faith and ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. In mid-2012 the fashion forward hijabi founded Adlinaanis.com, an e-commerce store that stocks a beautiful collection of hijabs and in 2016, her first clothing line.
Tapping on her wealth of experience as a stylist, Adlina has continuously introduced exclusive quality fabrics and prints as part of her offerings. One to push boundaries, the fashion graduate has also conceptualised and designed a series of instant, easy-to-wear hijabs that have proven to be a hit among hijabis. In January 2016 she had also created and launched the region’s first sport’s hijab, The Ninja Echo, which features smart details allowing the wearers to conveniently plug in their earphones without compromising on style. This also led to the creation of the Vizi Shawls which allows spectacle wearers to easily slide in their glasses for a more comfortable fit.
As an extension of her business, Adlina also runs a YouTube beauty and lifestyle channel where she has over 60 video demonstrating numerous ways to wear the hijab as well as videos on make-up. The Channel has now garnered over 2 million views and more than 23,000 subscribers.
The establishment has since grown to become a leading purveyor of shawls in Singapore as well as the region, with a reach spanning from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the States as well as parts of Europe including Russia.
